Governance Mentors is a ground-breaking initiative. Based on extensive research, it is the first considered response to a raft of issues facing the community sector.
Governance Mentors will deliver numerous benefits to the community and corporate sectors, in metropolitan and regional areas, to boards and their organisations, and to all tiers of government. Notably, this program contributes to communities achieving their goals.
Governance Mentors builds community through good governance. Volunteering Western Victoria has developed Governance Mentors to facilitate good governance within the community sector.
Clubs and volunteer organisations are the lifeblood of our communities. They bring They bring us together, they change lives and bring out the best in the places we live. But the challenges of being on the board of these essential organisations are getting more complex by the day! The program seeks leaders to mentor local community organisations, and strengthen good governance principles over a 12 month time-frame.
